Bangkok 2022 – Phloen Chit residents rejoice, MOZZA BY COCOTTE is finally expanding to Central Chidlom with its fourth branch bringing an exciting new casual Italian restaurant to the area in late December 2022. For those already familiar with the brand, MOZZA BY COCOTTE is the brainchild of Hospitality Management Asia, also known for their flagship restaurant Cocotte Farm Roast & Winery, French Brasserie Victoria by Cocotte and European Bistro Leon by Cocotte.
The new location is on the 2nd floor of the Central Chidlom shopping mall in the newly renovated “Public Lane” area. It shares a rustic-chic tone with its sister branches in Emquartier and Siam Paragon, however the new location will feature a much more prominent open kitchen – allowing for a clear view of the chefs at work, as well as the iconic Italian imported brick oven, an original creation of Stefano Ferrara Forni. The 90-seat restaurant provides an idyllic setting for a break while shopping, enjoying a weekend lunch with friends and family, or a quick evening Aperitivo after work.
Executive Chef Samuele Alvisi started his journey in London with one-star Michelin Chef Stefano Cavallini (Cavallini Restaurant) before working in five-star chains all over the middle-east and Asia. Despite being surrounded by luxurious cuisine, Chef Samuele remains loyal to the traditional Italian way of cooking, “La Trattoria”. Throughout his journey, Samuele has honed his skills creating traditional Italian dishes with a twist, always adding a little something unexpected from his travels. This is what Mozza is all about. “MOZZA is a living reminder of my Italian grandmother’s home cooking - the dishes were always simple and generous for the whole family. The tastes, textures, and the smell of boiling tomato sauce on a Sunday afternoon are an important reminder of my roots. Our tagline ‘La Cucina de Mama’ means Mom’s cuisine. The chefs and I work hard on making our food as traditional and homemade as possible so you can share the Italian experience with us”.
MOZZA BY COCOTTE follows the food philosophy shared by all restaurants in the group, with a focus on sourcing local products wherever possible. MOZZA BY COCOTTE works closely with the Royal Farm Project, as well as importing specialty Italian products directly from Italy including premium cold cuts and cheeses. A selection of delicious signatures await discovery. To begin, the Truffle Burrata with Roasted Vegetables – THB 720, and the famous Caprese Mozza Style – THB 390 (Tomato confit, mozzarella di bufala, basil oil & fresh basil) are not to be missed. Highly recommended main dishes include Duck Ragu Gnocchi – THB 590 (Homemade ricotta gnocchi, slow-cooked duck ragú, mushrooms & parmesan cheese), Carpi Salerno Pizza -THB 760 (Tomato sauce, Parma ham, stracciatella, basil & tomatoes), Italian Seabass – THB 650 (pan-seared seabass, grilled vegetables, fresh tomato sauce, capers & olives), and the “Cacciucco” Seafood Stew – THB 1,390 (Oven-baked seafood soup with Maine Lobster, mussels, clams, scallops, squid, prawns, tomato & homemade toasted garlic ciabatta). Finish off with either Cocotte’s Tiramisu – THB 320 or the refreshing Delizia d’Amalfi – THB 320 (Amalfi lemon mousse, orange segments, thyme syrup) as a dessert.
